PURPOSE:To enhance productivity and enable a thermal head to be adapted for an increase in density, by a construction wherein each diode is constituted by connecting a plurality of thin film diodes in series, and a thin film resistor is connected in parallel with each of the thin film diodes. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heating resistors 1 arranged in a row are divided into a plurality (n) of groups each comprising a predetermined number of the resistors 1, and one-side ends of the resistors are connected to group-selecting terminals 21-2n on a group basis. The other-side ends of the resistors 1 are connected to a matrix wiring 9 through a series of three thin film diodes 3-5 for separation. This film resistors 6-8 for balancing voltage are connected in parallel to the diodes 3-5, respectively. Every one of the diodes 3-5 and the resistors 6-8 is formed as a thin film on an insulating substrate provided with the resistors 1, and the heating resistors, the thin film diodes and the thin film resistors are covered by a common protective film 17. |
