METHOD FOR MEASURING HEIGHT OF WIRE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To mechanically and simply measure the position of linear matter at a high speed, by picking up the shade behind the linear matter and the image of said linear matter from the direction different from that of illumination light and calculating a height from the positional difference between both of them. CONSTITUTION:The direction 3 of parallel illumination light forms an angle thetawith respect to the perpendicular direction of a plane 2 being the direction in the plane of this figure. The direction 4 of the optical axis of a camera is regarded to be present in the same plane containing the perpendicular and the direction 3 of illumination light and set to the direction forming an angle phiwith a vertical axis. The distance of linear matter 1 is looked as (d) from the camera. At this time, the height (h) from the plane 2 behind the linear matter 1 can be calculated according to formula I.
