PURPOSE:To reduce drop-out or noises by reproducing VTR reproduced picture planes by thinning them by the prescribed number when the VTR reproduced picture plane as a slave one is complicated with a master picture plane caused by television broadcast. CONSTITUTION:First, a broadcast wave received by antenna 1 is caught as the signal of the master picture plane by a tuner 2, and a video signal on the prescribed station is supplied to a video mixer 11. A noise detecting circuit 5 detects whether the drop-out of the video signal reproduced by a video head 3 is present or not, and outputs a control signal to a memory control circuit 7. The video signal is A/D-converted through a VTR reproducing part 4, and written in the 1st and 2nd memories 8 and 9, which are driven in accordance with the output of the noise detecting circuit 5. After a picture signal processing part 10 executes the thinning processing, the video mixer 11 mixes the video signal with the master picture plane of the television broadcast to form the master and slave picture planes.
