SOLUTION: In a sealed type lithium secondary battery in which a wound-up group is formed by winding up a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate around an axis core through a separator and the wound-up group is contained in a cylinder form cell container a beginning portion of the winding of the negative electrode plate is cut in a portion in which a negative electrode active material layer 4 is painted, and the winding of the cutting portion begins ahead of the positive electrode active material layer 2. And the above cutting portion is protected by covering of a painting of a synthetic resin, or a coating of a tacky adhesion tape.
