<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure stable developing performance over a prolonged period of time as well as to reduce the amount of waste discharged from a developing device. <P>SOLUTION: A lower housing 70a constituting a development housing of a developing unit 14 is equipped with a developing roll 71 which supplies a developer including a carrier and toner to a portion opposite to a photoreceptor drum, a first screw auger 71 and a second screw auger 73 which stir and transport the developer in the developing unit 14. A recovered toner carry-in hole 81 through which toner recovered from a drum cleaner is supplied is made on a downstream side of the developing roll 71, a developer discharge hole 82 for discharging developer which becomes redundant in the developing unit 14 to the outside is made on a downstream side of the recovered toner carry-in hole 81, and a developer carry-in hole 83 through which new developer is supplied into the developing unit 14 is made on a downstream side of the developer discharge hole 82 and on an upstream side of the the developing roll 71. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
