PURPOSE:To perform mass-production of an alkaline protease which is a decomposition enzyme for peptide bond and useful as a drug, food, drink, detergent, etc., by separating an alkaline protease gene from a microorganism belonging to genus Aspergillus and determining the structure of the gene. CONSTITUTION:The inventors have succeeded for the first time in separating an alkaline protease from Aspergillus oryzae and determining the structure of the gene. The restriction endonuclease cleavage map of the alkaline protease gene is shown in the figure (E is EcoRI, A is AflII, K is KpnI, X is XmnI and S is SalI) and the amino acid sequence of the gene is expressed by the formula. |
