PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an image forming device in a state where the consumption of toner and the fluctuation of an image density are free from problems and to minimize the decrease of productivity in copying for a customer, even if it is necessary that the formation of an image is temporarily interrupted and a dummy cycle for forming a reference patch is executed. SOLUTION: In the case copying is unfinished in a mode requiring the dummy cycle and the number of image forming times CNT from the formation of the reference patch at the previous time becomes >=20 (YES in 192), only when the remaining number of consecutive image forming times at the this time exceeds five (YES in 194), the dummy cycle is executed to form the reference patch (196). In other words, when the remaining number is five or less (NO in 194), the formation of the reference patch is inhibited because the stability of the density of a copied image does not have any problem, even if the formation of the reference patch and the control of the image density are not attained up to the completion of copying. |
