An apparatus for dispersing a substance in a liquid beverage contained in a container (10) includes a receptacle (20) containing the substance (22) formed in the interior of the container (10) and an opening tab (12) attached to the top of the container (10) for bursting the receptacle (20) to disperse the substance (22) and for opening a pour panel (15) in the top of the container (10) so that the liquid beverage (9) can be drunk from the container. The receptacle (20) is formed of a flat sheet of an elastic material that is joined at opposite edges thereof to form a burstable seam (24). One end of the receptacle (20) is a beak (26) that causes the seam (24) to burst upon engagement with the opening tab.
