PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth retainer made of imitation wood coated with a synthetic resin, easily constituted in dimensions adjusted to the path width of a stroll path, a mountain path, or the like, lightweight, high in durability in spite of core material having strength and allowed to be long-sized, and dispensing with high die cost. SOLUTION: A long-sized, lightweight earth retaining member 1 is formed using an aluminum shape for core material 3 and forming a synthetic resin coating layer 4 by extrusion molding. An earth retaining pile 2 is formed using an aluminum shape coated with a synthetic resin, as core material 3. The earth retaining pile 2 is fixed to the earth retaining members 1 by corrosion resistant fixing means 5 such as corrosion resistant nails or corrosion resistant screws to constitute an earth retainer made of imitation wood.
