PURPOSE: Provided is an apparatus and method for removing suspended solids. According to this method, water-air emulsions are generated by using compressed air jetted by a compressor (70). Suspended solids are adhered on water-air emulsions, and floated onto the surface, therefore suspended solids is removed. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprise the parts of: a main tank (10), a partition wall (11) which is spaced from the bottom for flowing water and divide the second tank (30) and an outlet (32), a nozzle pipe (60) for generating the water-air emulsions, the compressor (70) for supplying the compressed air into the nozzle pipe (60), the first outlet tank (40) equipped with the second wall (42), the second outlet tank (50) equipped with the second outlet wall (52) which is lower than a secondary wall (42).
