The measurement head (4) containing the temperature sensor chip (3) tapers outwardly, from a flush connection made at the outer end (11) of the casing. The head resembles a plug, which is pushed into the casing (1), sealing it off. The head is a one-piece encapsulation of the chip and its twin connecting wires.
