<p>A container (10) having signaling capability is disclosed for use with medicine and other pharmaceutical related products. The container (10) preferably includes a conventional bottle-type body (12) with a rotatably secured closure (14). A sensor means (31) is structured to determine the position of the closure (14) and thereby provide an indication of cap rotation indicative of the patient using the medicine. A processing means (49) and display means (52) are also included in the container (10) to provide an indication of the current state of the container (10) with respect to its contents. In addition, the container (10) can include a button means (76) to permit a user of the container (10) to scroll through indicia shown on the display means (52). In another aspect of the container (10), a base station (80) is provided for transmitting data to/from a signal means (65) incorporated into the container (10). The base station (80) includes a body having at least one receptacle (82) for suitably receiving a container (10) therein. A method of using the container is also provided.</p> |
