Two scattering heads (4) beneath the scatter material storage bunker (3) are arranged next to one another in the travelling direction of the belt (7) on which mats of scattered material (9) are formed. A distribution device in between the bunker and scattering heads includes a number of distributor rolls, each of which form distribution paths in the direction of the scattering heads. Material, especially wood shavings or fibre is supplied from one or more bunkers to at least one scattering head, in order to form mats on a moving belt.
