PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape retaining auxiliary tool for shoe which is useful as an auxiliary tool for retaining the shape of the instep of a shoe, whose engaging tool can be disposed as combustible as a paper tube, and which is made considering emvironmental problems. SOLUTION: The shape retaining auxiliary tool consists of: an engaging tool is composed of an abutting part provided with an slip prevention part abutting on the quarter lining or back band of the shoe on its surface, an engaging piece formed by bending one end of the abutting part and a projecting body for paper tube insertion formed projecting on the back surface side of the abutting part; and the paper tube to and from which the engaging piece is attachable and detachable. The engaging piece of the engaging tool is engaged with a heel part or the back band. The abutting part is abutted on the quarter lining or the back band of the abutting part. The other end of the paper tube is abutted on an elastic shape-retaining material charged into the instep part of the shoe for constantly pressurizing the shape-retaining material to keep the shape of the instep part. The engaging tool is formed of mixed material of synthetic resin material and paper material.
