PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a power device such as a switching element without increasing a loss in an air passage of an electric fan incorporated by a vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: The power device 82 is placed on an outer wall of a case 44 for the electric fan forming a flow passage between a discharge opening of a centrifugal fan and a motor, for example on an outer surface of a joint (a flange part) 57, and a vacuum cleaner exhaust opening (an accommodating member ventilating opening) 26 of a main body 2 of the vacuum cleaner is placed on the side of a fan cover 46 rather than an electric fan exhaust opening 60 of the case 44. Consequently, since the power device 82 never disturbs an air flow in the case 44, the power device 82 is efficiently cooled by a radiation effect to the case 44 and by a cooling effect by the air discharged from the exhaust opening 60 without increasing the loss in the air passage.
