METHOD FOR PRODUCING PACKAGED GREEN TEA BEVERAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing packaged green tea beverage producing no sediment even if preserved for a long period and suitable for sales by warming. SOLUTION: This method for producing the packaged green tea beverage includes in a production process a silica removing process of adding silica to tea extracted solution obtained by extracting green tea leaves to let the silica absorb sediment components in the tea extracted solution followed by removing the silica. It is possible to selectively absorb and decrease protein and polysaccharides as a cause of secondary segment and prevent the production of segment even at the time of sales by warming through adding and bring silica into contact with the tea extracted solution. It is also possible to leave a lot of flavor components and leave a lot of catechins in the beverage to suppress development of heat resistant bacteria by antibacterial action of catechins. Furthermore, it is possible to selectively decrease fatty acid oxidative decomposition products as a cause of smell of deterioration and leave a lot of roasting flavor components such as pyrazine.
