PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat development apparatus which prevents the degradation in development at the time of developing a photosensitive heat developable recording material formed with image forming layers on both surfaces of a support. SOLUTION: The heat development apparatus 100 which heats the recording material A formed with the image forming layers on the both surfaces of the support and develops the latent images recorded on the image forming layers. The apparatus is equipped with preheaters 49a and 49b for heating the recording material A and at least portions of the contact surfaces of the preheaters 49a and 49b with the recording material A are provided with rugged parts.
