In a thermoformed supporting component comprising a core layer (8) of glass and thermoplastic fibers, covering non-woven layer(s) (12, 12') and decorative layer(s) (17), the covering layer is formed from a mixed fiber non-woven which (a) has area weight 50-250 g/m2>, (b) contains melt adhesive fibers and (c) is needled with the core layer (which contains 30-60 wt. % glass fibers) without additional adhesive. An independent claim is included for the production of a supporting component as above, in 3-dimensionally shaped form, by covering the core layer (8) on one or both sides with the covering layer(s) (12, 12'), further covering the covering layer or the core layer with the decorative layer (17) and thermoforming the obtained assembly of materials, where the covering layer is needled with the core layer without additional adhesive.
