<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test pattern for precisely adjusting dot recording timing in a bidirectionally recordable printer. <P>SOLUTION: The dislocation of the dot formed when a carriage moves forward and the dot formed when the carriage moves rearward is adjusted using the test pattern by a regular dither matrix. In this test pattern dots are regularly lined in a main scanning direction and a sub scanning direction, thereby the test pattern is viewed in a uniform condition without unevenness in density when printing in suitable recording timing. On the other hand, dot intervals are displaced and unevenness in density is generated when the recording timing is displaced. Thus, the displacement of the dot recording timing of the printer can be precisely adjusted by the presence or absence of the unevenness in density. Further, the unevenness in the density can be more remarkably viewed and adjusting accuracy is enhanced when the test pattern is regular dither matrix providing a space frequency by which visual sensitivity is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
