PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of a pseudo contour and correct the amount of luminescence of a luminous element for each pixel in a further suitable manner according to a deterioration amount of the luminous element.SOLUTION: A display device comprises a pixel circuit arranged in a matrix form, the pixel circuit including a luminous element emitting light at brightness corresponding to a current amount, an optical sensor and a compensation control circuit including a first capacity holding an applied second voltage and a second capacity. The compensation control circuit, in a light emission period of the luminous element, controls a current amount supplied to the luminous element on the basis of the detection result of the optical sensor and the second voltage held in the first capacity, within a second period out of second and third periods different from a first period of a predetermined length for always emitting light at brightness corresponding to a first voltage of controlling brightness of the luminous element, and controls a current amount supplied to the luminous element on the basis of the detection result of the optical sensor and a second voltage held in the second capacity within the third period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
