PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic wave device that can suppress unwanted waves.SOLUTION: An elastic wave device has a piezoelectric substrate 18, and an IDT 10 which is formed on the piezoelectric substrate, has electrode fingers 12 and excites elastic waves. The anisotropic coefficient is positive, and an intersection area 36 to which the electrode fingers of the IDT intersect has a center area 30 provided at the center in the extension direction of the electrode finger, and an edge area 32 provided at an edge in the extension direction. The electrode finger at the center area and the electrode finger at the edge area are continuous with each other, and the electrode finger of the edge area is inclined with respect to the electrode finger of the center area so that the pitch in the width direction of the electrode finger of the edge area is larger than the pitch in the width direction of the electrode finger of the center area. The intersection angle between the width direction of the electrode finger of the center area and the crystal orientation of the piezoelectric substrate is smaller than the intersection angle between the width direction of the electrode finger of the edge area and the crystal orientation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
