in a first step, comminuting the scraps delivered from a storage unit and subsequently optionally mixing the comminuted scraps with uncomminuted scraps from machining operations, in a second step filling a round compression mold with the comminuted scrap or the scrap mixture and compressing the comminuted scrap or the scrap mixture to obtain a round briquette having a density of greater than 60%, in a third step heating the round briquette to a temperature above 250° C., and a fourth step introducing the round briquette which has been heated into an extruder and, under pressure, in the extruder reshaping and compressing the round billet into an extrusion billet having a density of greater than 95%. |
