A cleaner (1) comprises a plastic mop holder (3) formed of two pivoted wings (7, 8) which can be locked in the working position and a handle socket (4) which can pivot about both the long and lateral axes. A mop head consisting of a textile cover (16) and a fibrous mop face (17), has pockets (18, 19) sewn onto the ends of the upper face of the textile layer (16). A strap (20) mfrd in a thermoplastic elastomer e.g. polyetherester is attached at one end to one of the pockets (18)between the textile layer (16) and the mop holder (3) and at the other end to the handle socket (4). ADVANTAGE - The method permits easy positional changes and alignment of the mop head in the suspended mopholder position.
