The seat for use in a vehicle has a separate seat part and backrest. These are shaped so that the seat part has a transverse seat trough on its rear section. The seat trough (4) which lies at the rear edge of the seat (2) is part of an extension of the contact side (3') of the back rest (3) and is held in position by springs (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - Seating arrangement which prevents the seat occupant sliding forward during vehicle accelerations.
