The mouth organ air duct box (1) is closed off by a top tuning plate (6) with ventilated reeds for the respective ducts in suction and blow modes. The mouthpiece has several blow holes, and between the top and bottom covers and the narrow side of the box there is a spring loaded, button operated and guided slider with air holes to switch to chromatic reeds. The two coves and the mouth piece (12) form part of an integral housing (10), which is only open on the rear side. The unit formed by air duct box and tuning plate(s) is held positively in the main housing by an inwards curved sheet metal strip (15), pestressed inwards, when out of load. ADVANTAGE - Small number of components, and simple assembly.
