PURPOSE:To provide an ink-jet recorder in which an ink cartridge and a recording head are prevented from being damaged by intentional or mistaken usage of a user and ink is efficiently consumed. CONSTITUTION:A locking means of an ink cartridge 1 and a recording head 12 is arranged in the connection part of both sides. The locking means is released by magnetic medium 20 arranged in the position opposite to an operating plate 22 consisting of a magnet medium constituting the locking means in accordance with a signal sent from an ink-detecting mechanism which detects the residue of ink 2 in the ink cartridge 1. |
