PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubbery elastic sheet material incorporated with cords which cat change the density step, angle, width, length, etc., of the cords instantly, prevents the generation of end materials in the changes, and is suitable for the small-lot production of various products, and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: A molding drum 6 which can be rotated through bearing devices 4a and 4b by a driving motor 5 is mounted on a base plate 3. The drum 6 is divided in the circumferential direction and can be expanded or contracted. A drum moving apparatus 7 for moving the drum 6 in the axial direction is installed on the side of a machine frame 1. In the apparatus 7, a ball screw 9 is set horizontally through a bearing 8 on the horizontal frame 1a of the frame 1. The screw 9 is connected directly to a servo-motor 10 installed in the terminal part of the horizontal frame 1a and rotated.
