SOLUTION: This transom stern type stern shape is a ship's bottom shape in the ship body center line of a stern part of a displacement type ship having a transom stern, with a sea speed of Froude number 0.2 to 0.4. An infection point 2 is provided in a position ahead by a fixed distance from the stern end 5, a region with a low flow velocity is formed in front of the infection point 2 as a border, and a region for accelerating flow from the infection point 2 to the rear is formed, whereby flow field is varied in front and in rear of the infection point 2, and the lower end 5a of the stern end 5 is positioned near the planned load water line LWL to reduce the wave making resistance. |
