PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device capable of improving stability and controllability of control, by eliminating a difference in the control timing between input and output of a control object, even when the control object indicates a relatively large dynamic characteristic in a phase lag and useless time. SOLUTION: This control device 1 has a prediction value calculating means (an ECU2, and a state predictor 22) for calculating a prediction value PREVO2 of an output state of the control object, and a control input calculating means (an ECU 2, and a DSM controller 24) for calculating control input (the target air-fuel ratio KCMD) to the control object for controlling output Vout of the control object in response to the calculated prediction value PREVO2 on the basis of any one modulation algorithm amongΔmodulation algorithm,ΔΣmodulation algorithm andΣΔmodulation algorithm.
