PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device capable of improving vertical resolution of a field. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup device 3 includes pixels 32 arrayed in a matrix-shaped manner, input signal lines L1 to L20 impressed by a voltage for retrieving output signals from the pixels 32, and a vertical scanning circuit 31 for outputting an impressing voltage to the input signal lines. In this case, two input signal lines are provided for each pixel group comprising the pixels 32 arrayed horizontally. In the pixel group, one of these two input signal lines (L1, L2) to (L19, L20) is connected with the pixels 32 arrayed at odd-numbered rows, while the other is connected with the pixels 32 arrayed at even-numbered rows.
