PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper processing device which consists of a small number of component items, is compact and can dispose of chips without causing a jam of paper. SOLUTION: The paper processing device for at least cutting the paper while carrying it includes: a carrying means for carrying sheets of paper one by one; cutters 72 and 74 for cutting the paper in the carrying direction, their driving means; a moving means for moving the cutters 72 and 74 in the direction orthogonal to the carrying direction; and a movement control means for controlling the moving means to move the cutters 72 and 74 to a cutting position. Each of the cutters 72 and 74 integrally has a cut chip removing member 5 for removing the cut chips occurring after the cutting out of a conveyance path. The member 5 is provided so as to change its posture between a working posture for removing the chips and a non-working posture not for removing the chips. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
