PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a forged article having high quality at a low cost by simultaneously attaining a formability of a complicated shape in a die-casting, and high reliability and high strength of a forged article, and to provide the forged article obtained with this manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a magnesium alloy forged article, while a die-cast original material of a magnesium alloy is held at 250-550°C and the die temperature is kept lower by 10-50°C than the holding temperature of this die-casting original material, the forging is applied partially or wholly to improve the strength.
