PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece clamping tool small in dimensions in the vertical direction, concerning the clamping tool used to fix a workpiece on a table of a machine tool and a level block of a measuring instrument and a clamping base furnished with a plurality of clamping tools. SOLUTION: This workpiece clamping tool is furnished with a side surface L shaped base 1 furnished with an inclined sliding surface 13 with a plurality of steps on its upward surface, a sliding member 3 furnished with a moving sliding surface 31 with an upper surface in parallel with a bottom surface of the base 1 and a lower surface furnished with a moving sliding surface 31 with a plurality of steps sliding on the inclined sliding surface 13, an elevating cover 4 to push down the sliding member 3 by fastening force of a fastening bolt 61, a guide groove 33 to regulate a relative positional relation in the cross direction between this elevating cover and the sliding member 3 and a reset spring 64 to energize the sliding member 3 to the side of a fixed wall surface 12.
