PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of repairing a laminated coating film easier than the conventional way, capable of obtaining a sufficient continuity and smoothness so that the difference between a repaired part and an unrepaired part is small or practically naught in the obtained coating film appearance after repairing the laminated coating film. SOLUTION: The method of repairing the laminated coating film comprising an intermediate coating film (1), a finish coating film (4) formed on the intermediate coating film (1) and including a base coating film (2) containing flake pigments and a clear coating film (3) formed on the intermediate coated film includes the following processes (a)-(d): the process (a) of grinding the laminated coated film, the process (b) of coating an aqueous base coating composition having flake pigments for repair coating containing a coated film forming resin, the process (c) of coating a solvent type clear coating material composition for gradation coating having a solvent type resin before emulsification of the coating film forming resin contained in the aqueous base coating composition having flake pigments for repair coating used in the process (b), a melamine resin, and an organic amide, and the process (d) of coating a clear coating composition for repair coating.
