Bit pattern media are provided to reduce record noise field on adjacent bits in magnetic recording by acting exchange coupling force in an opposite direction on constant magnetic force. Bit pattern media comprise: a magnetic record layer(22) including a plurality of bits(22a); and an exchange coupling layer(25) connecting the adjacent bits of the record layer. The exchange coupling layer is formed in one side among the upper and lower parts of the magnetic record layer. The exchange coupling constant between the bits by the exchange coupling layer has a value within a range of 0.001e-6 erg /cm2 or 1e-6 erg/cm2. The exchange coupling layer is formed with ferromagnetic substance.
