<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel chemical compound having a sufficient enough number of H<SP>+</SP>in its molecule that has a catalyst activity higher than a conventional heteropolyacid and a high stability as a catalyst, and an efficient method for preparing it. <P>SOLUTION: The heteropolyacid is represented by the general formula (1): H<SB>8</SB>[(PW<SB>11</SB>TiO<SB>39</SB>)<SB>2</SB>O]-xH<SB>2</SB>O(wherein x is an integer of from 1 to 100). The heteropolyacid represented by the general formula (1) can be prepared by first forming an ether adduct of a heteropolyacid represented by the general formula (1) by a treatment comprising the following steps (A) and (B), and subsequently removing the ether from the resulting ether adduct. The step (A) is a process wherein an aqueous solution comprising a heteropolyacid salt represented by the general formula (2) and TiCl<SB>4</SB>is made acidic by hydrochloric acid. The step (B) is a process wherein an ether is added to an aqueous solution comprising a heteropolyacid salt represented by the general formula (2): K<SB>7</SB>[PW<SB>11</SB>O<SB>39</SB>]-xH<SB>2</SB>O (wherein x is an integer of from 1 to 100) and TiCl<SB>4</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
