PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the installation work of a workpiece before wire electric discharge machining by equipping a favorable energizability with the workpiece.SOLUTION: A holding device used in electric discharge machining work including slicing a workpiece by wires arranged in parallel comprises a holding part holding the workpiece, and an energization part energizing so that an electric current flows to the workpiece in the electric discharge machining work. The holding part holds the workpiece on a place where there is no electric discharge machining work by wires. The energization part is arranged on the place where the electric discharge machining work finishes by wires, and the workpiece is held by adsorption using vacuum in the face of the holding part holding the workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
