PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of controlling turning-on and turning-off of a light-emitting element in accordance with the sheet state of a manual feeding tray.SOLUTION: An image formation device 1 comprises a manual feeding tray 50 on which a sheet S is placed, and is configured so as to be switched between a normal power mode of supplying normal power and a power-saving mode of saving power more than the normal power mode. The image formation device further comprises: a manual feeding sheet sensor 201 which detects the presence/absence of the sheet of the manual feeding tray; a sheet length S sensor 212 and a sheet length L sensor 213 which include light-emitting elements and light reception elements and detect the approximate length in the conveyance direction of the sheet placed on the manual feeding tray by detecting reflection light of light emitted from the light-emitting elements by the light reception elements; and a main control part 200 which controls switching between the normal power mode and the power-saving mode in accordance with a prescribed return factor. The main control part 200 performs control so as not to turn on the light-emitting elements if a return factor at the time of switching from the power-saving mode to the normal power mode is other than detection of the sheet by the manual feeding sheet sensor 201.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
