PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate material detection sensor excellent in detection sensitivity and detection accuracy.SOLUTION: A particulate material detection sensor 1 comprises an accumulated part 10 in which a part of a particulate material contained in the exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine is accumulated. The accumulated part 10 includes an insulating member 12 with electric insulation, and at least a pair of sensing electrodes 13 disposed in the insulating member 12. In a normal direction N of a surface 121 of the insulating member 12 in the accumulated part 10, a tip 131 of the sensing electrode 13 arranged toward the external side of the insulating member 12 is arranged in the position apart from the surface 121 of the insulating member 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
