The method involves causing passage from normal actuating mode of a movable unit e.g. awning apron (2), to an acquiring mode after detection of a physical stop. The passage is caused by a logical processing unit including a microprocessor and a memory. High and low end stops are successively recognized. The acquiring mode is then passed to the normal mode of the movable unit. An independent claim is also included for a device of closing and opening a casement.
