PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device, a display method, and a program which enable a photographer to intuitively grasp intention of a client.SOLUTION: A portable device 1 includes: a communication part 3 which can communicate with external equipment capable of displaying images, transmit image data generated by an imaging part 2 to the external equipment, and receive instruction information instructing a layout of photography by the portable device 1 on the basis of the image from the external equipment; a feature detection part 102 which detects features of a subject; a supplemental information generating part 104 which generates supplemental information for supplementing the layout of the image on the basis of the feature detected by the feature detection part 102 and the instruction information received by the communication part 3; and a display control unit 107 for making a display 7 display a guide image obtained by superimposing the supplemental information generated by the supplemental information generating part 104 and an image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
