<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent exhaust of gas present in a fuel electrode of a fuel cell to the outside in starting of the fuel cell and at the same time, make the fuel cell ready to generate electric power by supplying fuel gas to the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: Circulation ratio adjusting means 35, 50 controlling at least one of the flow rate of fuel gas flowing through fuel gas supply passages 30, 31, and that of off gas flowing through an off gas circulation passage and adjusting a circulation ratio which is a ratio of molar flow rate of off gas to that of the fuel gas are installed, and power generation pretreatment introducing fuel gas into the fuel cell 10 so that the circulation ratio enters a prescribed range before the fuel cell 10 starts power generation. The lower limit value of the prescribed range is set as a value for exhausting all gas present on the fuel electrode side of the fuel cell 10 before conducting the power generation pretreatment. The upper limit value of the prescribed range is set as a value for making the fuel gas concentration of mixture gas of fuel gas supplied to the fuel cell 10 and off gas in the concentration enough to generate electric power with the fuel cell 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
