PURPOSE:To arbitrarily change the width of a guide groove and an address pit by outputting a laser beam, which intensity is modulated, while being selectively divided into one central beam and two both side beams, and irradiating recording media with the outputted beams after arranging the media on a straight line rectangular to the rotating direction. CONSTITUTION:Respective beam spots 36-38 are arranged and the drive of an acoustic optical light modulator 26 is controlled. Then, the beam spots are switched so as to use the first beam spot 36 when exposing an address pit part 39 and to use the second and third beam spots 37 and 38 when exposing a guide groove part 40. Therefore, a guide groove 41 having comparatively wide width and an address pit part 42 having comparatively narrow width can be easily and satisfactorily formed. Thus, the width of the guide groove 41 can be freely changed by changing an interval between the second and third beam spots 37 and 38. |
