<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten operating time and to improve error correction ratio by analyzing syndrome values and obtaining coefficients of an error position polynomial. SOLUTION: For a operating control part 148, if each of syndromes S1 and S2 inputted through the operating part 146 are O and a syndrome S0 is not O, outputs a 1st control signal to an operating part 146, and after performing repeating operation there, it calculates the coefficientsσ1 toσ3 of the error position polynomial. For a determination control part 150, if all the syndromes S0 to S2 are O while all the syndromes S3 to S5 are not O, it determines that error correction is impossible, and outputs a message corresponding to the error correction impossible through an output terminal OUT2. Then, the determination control part 150, if obtained error positions are all within code language, determines that three errors have occurred, while if not within the code language, it determines that the error correction is impossible, and outputs a signal and a message corresponding to that an error correcting part 160 and the output terminal OUT2, respectively.</p> |
