A white LED is provided to improve light emitting efficiency and brightness of a white LED having a blue light emitting diode by using a powder medium together with a fluorescent body. A blue LED(102) is encapsulated by molding resin. At least one kind of a fluorescent body(103) is excited by blue light emitted from the blue LED to emit light. A reflecting powder medium(104) reflects the blue light emitted from the blue LED, dispersed into the molding resin. The at least one kind of the fluorescent body can be a green fluorescent body and a red fluorescent body.
