PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polynucleotide containing a specific base sequence, encoding a polypeptide having at least one activity of a human telomerase reverse transcriptase protein, useful for diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, etc., of diseases such as cancer, etc. SOLUTION: This new polynucleotide comprises a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having at least one activity of human telomerase reverse transcriptase protein, a polynucleotide having a sequence of formula I to formula III, a polynucleotide of at least ten nucleotides which is hybridized with the polynucleotides and encodes a protein having at least one activity of the human telomerase reverse transcriptase protein or a polynucleotide which is degenerated to the sequence prescribed above at the result of a genetic code and encodes a protein having at least one activity of the human telomerase reverse transcriptase protein, etc., has a changing action on the proliferating ability of cell and organism and is useful for diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, etc., of diseases such as cancer. |
