PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make coating film uniform especially in a high speed coating, to improve production yield and at the same time to satisfy the requirement of efficiency improvement in production of multiple types of products. SOLUTION: This coating apparatus is an extrusion type coating apparatus equipped with a die having a slit for extruding a coating material introduced to the tip from a coating material pool and capable of forming a coating film by extruding the coating material out of the tip on a support body continuously running relatively to the die. In the coating apparatus, coating width regulating plates 11, 11' are installed in both side end parts in the direction of the coating width of the slit and the corner parts c, c' in the tip end sides of the regulating plates are chamfered to be round (R) or linear (d).
