PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an inside of a head in a moisture-retentive state by housing as little ink for physical distribution as possible in an ink storage space inside the head during the physical distribution. SOLUTION: A joint rubber 211 is inserted into a connector inserting opening 201a of an ink jet head 201. The joint rubber 211, which has a slit, makes the opening 201a hermetically sealed except during supply of the ink. A cap unit 212 is mounted on a surface of a discharge opening of the head 201 during the physical distribution. Cap rubber 212b of the cap unit 212 forms a hermetically sealed space under a state of non-contact with the discharge opening of a nozzle 201g. A water-absorbing resin 212c in the cap rubber 212b is saturated with the ink for the physical distribution in order to bring the inside of the head 201 into the moisture-retentive state. In the head 201 during the physical distribution, the ink for the physical distribution exists at least inside the nozzle 201g, and does not exist in upper and lower spaces between which a filter 201c is sandwiched. |
