A method for selecting a channel number in a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to improve the convenience of channel selection by displaying the channel number which is inputted by a user in a specific location of a channel list displayed on a screen. A channel number, which a user wants to select, is inputted while a channel list is displayed(S202). The inputted channel number is stored to update accumulative channel numbers(S208). The inputted channel number is displayed in a specific location of the channel list through a screen(S210). The channel number is searched from the channel list(S212). A cursor is moved to a corresponding channel number in the channel list(S216).
