METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACQUIRING MULTIPLE IMAGES IN DIGITAL DETECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reduction in X-ray exposure to a subject in image bonding (image pasting).

SOLUTION: An X-ray system is controlled so as to acquire an image of an area of a patient which is larger than a field of view of an X-ray detector 1. Individual images 501, 502 which can acquire images of the area of the subject by being combined and used can be acquired for each portion of the region 18 of the subject. Positions C1, C2 of the individual images are determined. These positions are preferably calculated to avoid arranging a structure having a tendency of moving or a structure 300 being dose sensitive in an overlapping areaνof the individual images (block 414). Also, these positions are preferably calculated to reduce an overall exposure to the subject by especially reducing an unnecessary double exposure.
